One Price All Destination campaign
The first signs of a fight back come with a tie-up between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and "self-styled" boutique accomodation throughout the Kingdom called the One Price All Destination campaign. It's a bit of a mess, but basically the deal is B2,000 "per person per night" (which is annoying) at, the TAT says, one of "20" (with more being added) resorts, including:
- Shanghai Mansion Bangkok, Chinatown
- Burasari Phuket, Patong Beach
- The Old Phuket Phuket, Karon
- The Paradise Koh Yao Phuket
- The Puka Boutique Resort Chiang Mai
- Yantarasiri Boutique Hotel Chiang Mai
- Fondcome Village Chiang Mai
- Ayatana Hamlet & Spa Chiang Mai
- Baan Thai Village Chiang Mai
- Away Maerim Chiang Mai
- Bann Tazala Chiang Mai
- Yaang Come Village Chiang Mai
- At Niman Chiang Mai
- Villa Sansai Chiang Mai
- La a Natu bed & bakery Hua Hin
- Haven Resort Hua Hin
- Dhevan Dara Resort & Spa Hua Hin
- The Rock Hua Hin
- Aka-Nak Resort Krabi
- Away Tusita Chumphon Chumpon
- The Legend Chiang Rai Chiang Rai
- The Legendha Sukhothai Sukhothai
- Buri Rasa Village Koh Samui
- Rasa Nanda Koh Pha-ngan
But before you hand over your money, here's what we mean by "mess." According to the TAT, (1) B2,000 per person per night covers (2) breakfast and dinner and (3) roundtrip airport transfers (4) when you book through Feb 28 (5) for stays through Jun 30, (6) with a 2-night maximum. However, this is slightly different from what Burasari and its partners say on their websites (click here for full list of conditions) and considerably different from Baan Duangkaew Resort -- for starters, their "One Price" is B2,700 per person per night (click here for full list of conditions).
The official word from the TAT is you can find the full list of resorts at Thailand Super Deal, which might be technically true if you're Super-Patient and don't mind assembling your own list. This entails scrolling down the various "Super" promotions until you find one that says "One Price All Destinations" such as Baan Duangkaew Resort or has the OPAD logo such as Burasari.
So now you have 2 out of "20." If you want more, you can spend your afternoon clicking all the links above.
Your 2 Key Points
We've boiled them down to 2, which of course don't apply in the case of Baan Duangkaew:
- It's B4,000 per night, but you get benefits like 2pm check-out, meals and airport transfer.
- Prepayment is required, and it is non-refundable.
We Say...
These are mostly semi-educated guesses, but here's how we would (and would not) spend our money:
- Definitely Worth It: The Paradise Koh Yao, Away Tusita Chumphon
- Possibly Worth It: At Nimman, The Old Phuket
- Probably Not Worth It: Burasari, Away Maerim, The Legendha Sukhothai
