Thieo Thai Khruek Khruen, Settakij Thai Khuek Khuk
Now we have to admit that a number of tourists coming to Thailand during our beloved high-season is slashed in half - or more. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT, 1672) estimates that at least 3 milion visitors are driven away by the economic recession plus the airport occupation, from now until March.
So how can tourism businesses can survive through this harsh time? It's gonna be only the domestic traveling of the Thais. TAT is charging the leading role of boosting the gloomy situation with the latest campaign Thieo Thai Khruek Khruen, Settakij Thai Khuek Khuk (เที่ยวไทยครึกครื้น เศรษฐกิจไทยคึกคัก). The campaign features sub programs that has been segmented for all types of tourist. Examples are:
Colors of the Rivers - Loy Krathong Festival big event is going to be held on the riverside spots all around Thailand: Bangkok, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, Tak, Aytthaya and Song Khla.
100 Isan Villages - This is part of the 2008-2010 Isan Tourism Years, trying to promote TAT selective villages in which are rich of identities, traditions and folk products.
Amazing Fun Golf - To promote over 200 golf courses all around the country to domestic and international market.
