Airport Rail Link is Getting Better

At last the State Railway of Thailand (them again) has finally admitted that there might be some problems with the Airport Rail Link train service and are doing something about it. First up, the introductory price for the Express Line train (B150 roundtrip/B90 one-way) which was meant to end last year shows no sign of stopping, offering us an affordable alternative to rubbing shoulders with Ladkrabang locals during rush hour. There are further savings for Air Asia passengers who can use a City Line train at B10 (normally B15-45) until Mar 31. Finally, after a year of having to make the long, and frankly pretty scary, walk from Makkasan ARL station to MRT Petchaburi station, they’ve now implemented a buggy shuttle service. It runs daily from 7am-8pm from the ARL station to Ratchadapisek Road, where you’ll need to walk a further 50m, across a train track, to get to the MRT station. Not quite there yet, but progress at least. Get further news and promotions at their Facebook page (facebook.com/pr.arl).
