Bangkok Theatre Festival

November 19th, 2008

The Bangkok Theater Festival is an annual event hosted by the Bangkok Theater Network, a group dedicated to promoting and encouraging young new talent in the performing arts. The 2008 event marks the 7th succesive year and features the theme “Theater Sparks Life.” Witness a variety of stage performances, old, new, traditional and contemporary, ranging from the real life-inspired GodaGardener about Thai workers and their misfortunes in Taipei, to the traditional shadow puppet reenactment of the Ramakien. These performances are taking place at a variety of venues across the city including the very chill Santi Chaiprakarn Park and the surrounding restaurants on Phra Athit road, the Crescent Moon Space (Pridi Bhanomyong Institute), Makhampom Studio, Naked Masks Playhouse, Democrazy Theater, Lido and Monta Performing Arts. Mark your calendars: Nov 22-Dec 14. For dates and information on individual performances and ticket prices visit www.bangkoktheatrefestival.com or call  08-9142-7321, 08-9671-7641.
