Underground/F, The Emerald Hotel, Ratchadapisek Rd., 08-9456-3515. www.clubnoirbkk.com. Open daily 10pm-late.
The buzz: The newest addition to the Ratchada clubbing scene is this gargantuan nightclub catering to wild partygoers. Scratchdog and Tunnel: looks like you guys have competition!
The décor: The place is simply vast. Set in the basement of the Emerald Hotel, Noir, unlike the name suggests, is decked out in mostly white (it’s debatable whether that’s a wise idea, considering its raison d’etre) and a million strobes and box lights creating a constantly changing kaleidoscope of colors. Some areas are sectioned off giving you the typical hip hop music video feel while the stage and the massive screen behind the DJ booth literally spells out rave. Just a word of warning: you don’t even have to be an E-popper for the tunnel entrance, entirely swamped with bright flickering lights, to trip you out.
The music: R&B to kick start the night at 10pm. They have one live band session on the weekdays from 1am-2am. The rest is usually a mix of hip hop and house—think DJ Seed.
The crowd: Party animals. A mix of Thai and inter people as they have DJs as well as live music.
The price: Cocktails B180-220 (their kamikazes come in three different colors), beer B120, wine B1,200-2,100 and mixers B60-100. They also a Japanese menu with dishes ranging from B150-480.
Why you’ll come back: You obviously are all about partying till the wee hours of the morning.
