The buzz: Looking to set itself above—literally—the rest of Bangkok’s girly-bar town, this elevated lounge and club offers views of Soi 2 without getting your hands (or reputation) dirty.
The décor: Four farang friends have turned a bridge between two buildings into a glass-encased structure topped with a black Chinese pagoda roof about 5-6 meters off the ground. You can enter either from the commercial building or the parking structure—look for protruding gray blocks of concrete in a semi-circle—it’s where you’ll find the entrance door. The interior is compact, perfect for 60-90 people. With a bar, a DJ booth and lots of plush black silver-accented couches around its circumference, it can get pretty packed as night turns into early morning. The brightly lit see-through spiral staircase is as conspicuous as the sign on it that reads “members only.” Of course, you’ve got to dish out the dough for the better view, comfy chairs and other special perks. Another impressive design element upstairs is the floor made from thick bulletproof glass. Ladies, take our advice and stick to pants. Our favorite part? The ladies room. Girls, take a peek at the “viewing” mirror by the washbasins.
The music: It’s lounge music from 6-10pm. After 10pm, different DJs take over depending on the theme of the night— 70s style on Tue, “Paris Paris” on Thu, tech, house electro on Sat and U Play on Sun—bring your iPod and they’ll play what you want.
The crowd: Lots of friends of the owners and a good mix of Thai and foreigners, busiest during the themed music nights.
