Real Deal Pet hospital

Real Deal Pet hospital

May 26th, 2009

Dear Mr. KIA, My four-year-old rabbit is now in pretty bad shape. Recently, she’s been acting differently, she doesn’t eat and barely plays like she used too. Since she was a special gift from an ex, I can’t just let her hop out of this world. But the thing is, I don’t trust those grungy looking pet clinics in my neighborhood. Could you help me find a real deal pet hospital I can rely on? —Thumper Lover

Dear TL, I’m no psychologist, but I reckon your aging rabbit is actually just a substitute for your ex, did he have floppy ears and big teeth as well? My advice, dump the bunny and move on with your life. Still, if you want to keep living in the past and keep Thumper alive a little bit longer then here are the best 24-hour pet hospitals around.

Thonglor Pet Hospital (Thonglor Soi 9-11, near BTS Thonglor, 02-712-6301/-4. www.thonglorpet.com) This place doesn’t just treat your pets illness, it also treats them like royalty. With all mod cons and specialty veterinarians, they provide general treatments, pet grooming, inpatient rooms and services like microchip implantation. They even have special departments for heart problems, aging and dentistry among others, just like a human hospital. Finally, the pet shop and pet-lover café let you do some comfort shopping (and eating) while your bunny gets treated. Become a member for B100 annually to get discounts.

Formed back in 1992, Talingchan Pet Hospital (37/7 Barommaratchachonnanee Rd., 02-887-8321/-3. www.talingchanpet.com) was the first private pet hospital in Thailand. Providing pet services such as vaccines, x-rays, test laboratory, surgery and even ambulances, they are a more affordable option. They can hold up to 200 animals in their patient rooms and also have a pet hotel for your rabbit to recover in. B500 gets you a two-year membership with discounts on treatments.

Kasetsart Veterinary Teaching Hospital (50 Paholyothin Rd., Jatujak, 02-942-8756/-9. http://hospital.vet.ku.ac.th) is operated by Kasetsart University’s Department of Veterinary. This pet hospital offers a wide range of pet care services, including a blood bank for your pets. The team of professional vets is ready to diagnose your rabbit with high-tech devices such as X-ray, ultrasonography and fluoroscopy. They also have a fund for broke animals!
