i-Berry Cuisine (Wireless Road)

This modern space with a splash of retro-esque elements is a favorite haunt of the young and cheeky crowd of Siam Square. The kitchen dishes out western and Thai dishes along with light snacks and smoothies. Service is patchy, but the ice cream downstairs is always spot on.

I-Taste Cafe

Frequented by businessmen and women by day and a young crowd by night. There's a pool table in case you need to exercise after the meal. The food is Thai fusion; think deep-fried rice cakes with spicy and sour tuna salad. The soft-shell crab with black pepper is also a must try.

BK MAGAZINE RESTAURANT GUIDE 2006

Iam Pochana

Meat lovers find themselves going again and again to this 60-year-old establishment for good beef hotpot and muu krata at great prices.

IATA

Reasonably priced fried pigeon and Chao Samut (mixed seafood on a hot plate) are the bestsellers at this family-run Chinese restaurant.

Ibiza

Ibiza

They're planning on bringing back the stalled "clubbing-in-hotels" scene and it looks like their task will be accomplished once word gets out. This red and black themed venue is long, spacious and fitted with just enough furniture to kickback between songs. Their nights are themed.

Children nodes

iCafe

This café makes you feel at home with its casual atmosphere. Regional Thai favorites, international fare and “Pasta & Noodles” are available for buffet lunch while dinner is an a la carte affair. Also try the second outlet on Rajaprapop Rd., 02-209-3888.

Ice Bar

The buzz: Situated at the end of Thonglor, off Sukhumvit, Ice bar is quickly making an impression, and not just for its large neon-blue sign. Destined to join the ranks of such well-known Thonglor bars as Escudo, Cliq, and Song Saleung, Ice Bar’s cool atmosphere
will make you feel firmly in the space age while still being comfortable enough to chill in it.

Ice Connection

Don’t expect rich or creamy flavors here because this quiet parlor offers low-sugar ice cream to match your blood type. Even the cones are made from healthy wheat.

Ice Monster

The prices are a bit on the high side, but the Monster’s refreshing ice delights are cool antidotes to Bangkok’s sweltering heat. Try a cup of shaved ice with your favorite toppings chosen from an array of seasonal fruits and chocolate. Or dive into the Monster Banana Split or Brownie Fudge.

Ichi

Opened: Nov, 2007

The buzz: Ichi is yet another fresh bar on the busy road of Ekkamai, blooming right across big mama, Nanglen.

ICI

The “Bird’s-Eye View Eating House” is a comfortable, contemporary greenhouse-like restaurant with a charming rooftop garden outside. The extensive menu consists mainly of European dishes as well as a few fusion creations like tom yum goong risotto.

Ie Sae

The oldest café in Yaowarat, Ie Sae is now 80 years old and still kicking, with over 20 branches in various shopping malls around the country. The original outlet in Chinatown still oozes classic ambiance with its black wooden tables and chairs, occupied by old-timers talking politics and traffic.

il Cielo

il Cielo is italian for sky, and eating at the restaurant is not just a pie-in-the-sky dream thanks to its affordable set lunch deal. At B399 for two courses and B499 for three, pick you favourite items from a lunch menu, which changes regularly.

Im Boon

Im Boon

Get your non-animal versions of shrimp, fish, duck, pork, clams and even fried eggs (which do taste real and even have “yolks”), all made from soy or other non-animal based products. It’s both a restaurant and a shop, with three freezers full of fake “meats” made in Thailand, as well as special imports from Taiwan, Vietnam and Malaysia to choose from.

Imoya Potato Club

BK MAGAZINE Dine & Wine Guide 2005

------------------------

You won't giggle at the name, because you won't see it. The sign is only in Japanese, as is the menu. But the sushi at this charmer is cheap. Brush up on your Japanese and the friendly owner might run off for a catch of the day for you.

Inch

Inch

Two colossal halls for the kids to hip hop the night away in. More upmarket than other Ratchada establishments, with corresponding prices.

Despite the mixed reviews and general lack of buzz, we think that India Today is actually a perfectly nice, if not-particularly-cheap, restaurant that just happens to be languishing in the wrong location. (read more...)
