Umami

Sitting opposite Melba and Mousses & Meringues on Sukhumvit Soi 31, Umami is yet another Japanese restaurant popping up in an already very Jap part of town. However, if you are looking for a classic sushi bar, this address may be too creative for you.

Uomasa Ekkamai

The menu is basically the same as its original branch in Nihonmura. Loud and lively, hordes of salarymen frequent the restaurant for its authentic cuisine, enthusiastic service and whale, horse and beef tongue served in a variety of ways. Also try its original outlet in Thonglor (Nihonmura, Thonglor Soi 13, 02-392-6575).

Urban Bar

Urban Bar

Chill out in the air-conditioned section with acoustic music from the house band or grab an alfresco table if you want to chitchat. KTV rooms upstairs, but if you want to sing the night away you will have to book in advance as this place is almost always full of university students enjoying the pleasant atmosphere and great value for money.
