As of last night, the outdoor mask mandate for Thailand that has kept faces covered and noses hot is no longer mandated following an announcement from the Royal Gazette.

This move comes after a week ago when the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said outdoor masks would no longer be mandatory in July, along with other welcome news as the Covid pandemic measures abate.

While not mandatory, many will likely keep wearing masks outdoors, and the CCSA says that masks are still required for enclosed spaces and events, including concerts, and in areas with poor ventilation.

July will see the further easing of many Covid related restrictions, including allowing bars to stay open until 2am and the end of the Thailand Pass entry scheme for international tourists.

Residents will still need their masks for getting around the city, and the BTS announced this morning that masks are still required.
