The team behind Rabbit Hole and Liberation are at it again, this time on Langsuan Road.

Officially open for business as of Oct 25, Art Deco jazz and cocktail den Crimson Room is fueled by the spirit of the Roaring Twenties and the cocktail prowess of Suwincha “Chacha” Singsuwan, the star bartender who introduced the city to truffle fat-washed martinis at BAD Award-winning Rabbit Hole.

Don’t expect any “modern classics” here. Among the 20 signature drinks she’s teasing, seven will be aperitivos designed for post-work drinking. And, she adds, Crimson Room is aiming to recapture the optimism of the post-WWI era, a time “when no one knows what will happen,” but they’re celebrating hard anyway. We interpret that to mean cocktails that defy labels and lean heavily on experimental techniques, but time will tell. The drinks should be pretty lush, in any case.

The bar is also putting on live shows every Wednesday to Saturday, including jazz performances and DJ sets. Stadium seating, vaulted ceilings and plush red velvet fabrics, meanwhile, add to the Gatsby-esque vibe.
