BANGKOK RESTAURANT

Aoon

This small cafe serves food on its own ceramic tableware produced on-site.

Aoon serves food on its own ceramic tableware produced on-site. Visiting this earth-toned cafe and ceramic studio in the Old Town feels like a getaway from the city to a handicraft village.

Aiming to spread the love for ceramics, engineer-turned-ceramist Pollasate Lohachalatanakul and his brother Taned offer diners the chance to eat direclty from the rustic creations.

The menu includes comfort food from the brothers’ home, including their grandma’s version of satay rice (B135) where pork satay gets fried up and topped over rice with an egg, grilled cheese sandwiches (B135) and simple yet delicious waffle with ice cream (B120).

For drinks, the mixed berry smoothie (B85), which comes with a spoonful of yogurt, will brighten your day. Sip tea from Chiang Rai’s Sawanbondin farm and if you like the cup, you can buy one for yourself from B200.
