Lobster Lab (Sala Daeng)

This seafood specialist's second branch comes with a new lunch-friendly menu.

Seafood importer Thammachart Seafood (also behind The Dock and Seafood Mahanakorn) has opened a second branch of its lobster-filled kiosk at the new Commons Saladaeng. Straying from their namesake, they’ve taken the opportunity to diversify their menu with a host of new items, ranging from oyster platters (B790/six pcs) and bloody Mary Fine de Claire oyster shooters (B100 each), to pocket-friendly lunch sets that are perfect for Silom’s office crowds.

Try the delicious herb-crusted salmon set with crunchy kale-carrot slaw, green pea guacamole and lime crema sauce (B255) or the juicy pork and chorizo meatballs with quinoa and pearl barley tabbouleh, grilled flatbread and lemon-sumac yogurt (B155). Vegetarians can even get involved with the honey roast pumpkin set, featuring tofu, eggplant chips, broccoli, feta, sunflower sprouts, brown rice and ginger dressing (B155).

Lobster, of course, remains the focus, with their signature Boston roll (B690) now joined by the mammoth Seafood Monster Bake (B1,990; feeds three-to-four people)—a steaming tray of Tasmanian mussels, red emperor prawns, corn, potatoes, garlic butter and a whole Maine lobster served with crispy baguette toasts. Perfect for a celebratory pay day lunch, the Lobster Box set (B790) features half a Maine lobster, lobster croquettes, grilled king prawns and a crab salad. Wash it down with a basil G&T (B250) or a glass of wine (B190).

The new menu is also available at The Commons Thonglor branch.
