More sad news for fast food burger lovers as Carl’s Jr plans to close all 6 branches in Thailand by the end of Mar.

R&R Restaurant Group, which holds the rights to operate the burger chain, revealed they could no longer bear the cost to keep Carl’s Jr going.

“We tried to get through it during the second half of 2021. But we were forced to import our ingredients solely from the U.S. due to the restrictions imposed by CKE Restaurants Holdings.”

The burger chain opened its first branch in Thailand at Central Festival Pattaya Beach in 2012. As of now, they will continue to operate  two branches: Holiday Inn Sukhumvit and Pattaya.

Editor's note: A previous version of this article claimed the first branches opened in 2002, rather than 2012.
