There’s a new chef in town at Sukothai’s special occasion Italian restaurant, La Scala, and he’s making waves. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, chef Anthony Burd cut his teeth in some of the finest kitchens in Italy before joining the prestigious Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Mercato in Hong Kong. Now, he’s bringing a colorful new menu to the Sukhothai that’s packed with Italian flare, Thai produce, and immaculate plating.

Dishes range from classic burrata (B680) served with a warm mango peperonata to delicate, herb-crusted Ora King Salmon (B1,280) with spring vegetables. Featuring little pillows of squid ink ravioli filled with Brittany blue lobster and topped with generous pieces of lobster, bottarga and kale tossed in spicy tomato sauce, the Agnolotti (B1,580) is pure indulgence, while the pizzas are equally delicious—truffle lovers shouldn’t miss the Tartufo (B1,180), topped with mascarpone, rocket and fresh winter truffle shavings. Finish with the silky almond-based panna cotta (B360), topped with a white chocolate cream and strawberry sorbet. For the full experience, you can also opt for the evening tasting menu (B3,200).

Perhaps the most exciting part is the unbeatable set lunch deal, which grants you two courses for just B780 or three courses for B980, inclusive of tea or coffee—a steal considering the menu's regular prices.
