This weekend, Allan Donnelly, the shoemaker behind the bespoke, handmade Don’s Footwear brand, will be hosting a three-day event at Duke at Gaysorn Village that no shoe connoisseur will want to miss. From Oct 30-Nov 1, the Bangkok Shoe Forum will offer top-drawer bespoke and ready-to-wear shoes from leading Thai and international men’s footwear brands, including W.Ministry, The Somchai, Winston Maison, Mango Mojito, Don’s Footwear, Fugashin, and Saint Crispin’s, among many others.

The event will include loads of product highlights, a shoeshine competition, and a giveaway, as well as a few panel discussions on topics that run the gamut from “understanding leather” to “shoeshine tips and tricks.”

On Friday, Oct 30, The Somchai will be leading an exclusive shoe presentation, and the next day, Saturday, Oct 31, three pros will compete against one another for the title of Thailand’s top shoeshiner. Drop by early, because there will be whisky tastings and a free bar before the competition, plus lots of prosecco during the main event. The afterparty kicks off after that, too.

Throughout the weekend, Don’s Footwear will be selling lots of shoes for pretty incredible deals, starting from B3,000 for hand-welted shoes. There will also be a new exhibition to check out from Tommaso Maggio, the resident artist at the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, as well as a lucky draw with great prizes, such as a two-night stay at the new Kimpton Maa-Lai hotel, a pair of bespoke shoes from The Last Shoemaker, and a few bottles of wine.
