There are always poetry readings, storytelling nights or some sort of literary festival happening in Singapore. But it's rare that they all happen to converge on the same night, like today. Cerebral Stuff
It's gonna be high-falutin' literariness over at Yale-NUS tonight with more (free!) events by the American Writers Festival taking place. There's a reading by Pulitzer finalist playwright Rajiv Joseph, followed immediately by a panel discussion with novelist Adam Johnson (of The Orphan Master's Son fame), China-based non-fiction writer Michael Meyer and Bloomberg's Asia Editor, Nisid Hajari. 6pm, 7pm. Pretty Poetry
Closer to town, at the beautiful Arts House, the World Lit series will feature visiting Asian-American poet from New York, Sally Wen Mao, followed by a discussion with our favorite Singaporean poet, Cyril Wong. 7:30pm. Free with registration

Cozy Queer Lit
Over in Tiong Bahru is a naughty reading by the organizers of IndigNation, Singapore's long-running LGBT festival. Kink Dot: An Evening of Alternative Queer Erotica at BooksActually is curated by Singapore Literature Prize-winning poet Ng Yi-Sheng. Plus they jussst got their MDA licence today in the nick of time. 7:30. Free.

Autobiographical Weep-Fest
Monthly true-to-life storytelling series Telling Stories Live will celebrate its first anniversary at Fabulous Baker Boy in Fort Canning Park tonight with an open mic storytelling session. Stay and buy a giant piece of cake afterwards from the cafe. The selection is great. 8pm. Free.

Rude Rhymes
Spoken word series Speakeasy #22 returns to Artistyry with award-winning slam poet Stephanie Dogfoot and acting student and Singlish-wielder extraordinaire Deonn Yang at Artistry. 8pm. Free.
