As you might recall, in this year's Pink Dot campaign videos, 78 year-old transgender woman Rose, who lives at the T Project, a modest home for transgender Singaporeans, shared her story with the world. The video went viral, but soon after The New Paper ran a story that the shelter she calls home was in danger of closing due to lack of funds. Many chipped in to help, but if you missed the chance back in May, there's another opportunity to help out, and it entails delicious home-cooked food.

Artistry is partnering up with Rose herself for The Giving Table, a special dinner on Aug 15, where Rose will prepare a five-course home-style Tamil dinner, with simple but flavor-packed dishes such as chicken curry, rice with peas, mixed vegetables, kesari dessert and lots more. If you remember the video, you'll recall that Rose grew up helping her dad at a hawker stall, so she ain't no amateur.

Tickets are $80 on Peatix ($50 for students, artists and activists, and generally other people who'd like to help but are tight on cash), and 100% of proceeds will go towards keeping the T Project open.
