80/20 x Thai Sommeliers

On Mar 28, chef Napol Jantraget and pastry chef Saki Hoshino of 80/20 will challenge nine leading Thai sommeliers to create the perfect wine pairings for their nine-course dinner menu. Diners will be asked to blind taste each wine and give a score on how well they think it pairs with the dish. By the end of the night, they'll reveal the names of each glass and which sommelier scored highest. Among others on the menu, there will be braised leg of lamb in massaman curry, charcoal-grilled river prawn with lemongrass glaze, and guava and sato mousse with rosella oil and powder for dessert. B4,500 per person. Haoma’s chef Deepanker Khosla joins executive chef of the St. Regis, Christopher Miller, at the hotel's wine lounge Decanter for two nights of pop-up dinners on Mar 29-30. Each of the seven courses makes use of homegrown or locally sourced ingredients—think oyster and corn tartar with cilantro and yuzu, and eggplant relish with raw tomato chutney, lentil dumplings and pickle, followed by a dessert of white chocolate, Champagne sorbet, berries and rose. B2,500 a person. Sushi Zo Sake-Pairing Omakase Dinner

Head to Sushi Zo on Mar 30, when they’ll be holding a special sake-pairing omakase dinner. With a focus on Niigata prefecture’s Kubota brand, there will be three types junmai sake on offer to pair with 18 courses. Kitchen Takeover is back for Episode 2 on Mar 31, when chef Sitanan "Kai" Wonghirandecha will show off her skills at Broken Eggs. The Hat Yai-born chef has experience working on New York's culinary scene and is now working on pop-up events with celeb chef Chudaree "Tam" Debhakam (the first ever Top Chef Thailand winner). This night dedicated entirely to congee, or khao tom kui (plain rice soup), will see five top chefs come together at Surface to celebrate the Thai traditional dish, along with 24 different side dishes.
